You Haunt My Dreams

This is about that one person who is ALWAYS on your mind - but you're never on their's. :( But does that stop you from thinking about them? Nope. They might even say hurtful things to you - and it hurts, yes, but do you stop caring about them?

And at least in our dreams, we can be with this person. At least in our dreams at night and our daydreams and thoughts during the day, this person is ours. At least reality doesn't exist in our minds. So I welcome it. I welcome it, this slow, sweet torture. Because it makes me happy.

YOU HAUNT MY DREAMS:
You haunt my dreams at night
Come morning and you flee
But still cloud my thoughts during the day
Will you ever let me be?

Come hurt me all you want, I say, for my
Love for you takes the form of a phoenix
My Sun, you burn me, and I die but
Am reborn from the very immortal’s ashes.

Seems like shattered glass is destined
To be crushed and crushed and crushed
Until my heart, it is left sparkling,
Until it’s glitter dust.

Come see me in my dreams tonight
Look at me, hold my hand,
Be by my side, we’ll hug and kiss,
And do what in reality we can’t.

Come haunt my thoughts during the day
I welcome the sweet torture
I’ll wait and wait and wait for you
Even if it means forever.

Elemental Love

This is a poem requested by my friend Aswin Kumar about a guy waiting for his ex even after a breakup forced by the girl's parents! BIG thanks to him for suggesting this topic!!!

ELEMENTAL LOVE:
When fire and ice
Had fallen in love,
The world was against it,
Like the gods above.
But fire was pure –
An eternal flame.
His love ablaze
Will never change.
And water was sweet,
A taste of joy
And everlasting hope
Throughout her life.
And love – it happened,
Ricocheted from the mountains,
The voice that was silenced
By the earth of their origins.
The universe saw
The elements weep.
Where does love go
With a future so bleak?
And water -  she fled.
She flees from fire.
Evaporates despite
Her elemental desire.
And heart chained to her,
The fire - he remembers
Every moment, every detail
Of their time together and
Her every feature.
Not a day, not an hour
Goes by without her thought
And fire will wait for her
Whether she returns or not.
Only water can calm fire,
Only she has his heart,
And she melts for him too –
Such feelings don’t part.
The very universe,
Such cruel fate,
Against their love –
But it will not fade.
It will not fade, and
In the deepest volcanoes
They’ll join as lava –
Unstoppable, courageous.
And not a thing
Could stand in their way
When they’re together
And their love won’t sway.
But still for now
Water will flee,
And fire will wait
And wait and dream.

Do you see all those connections here? Like water evaporating in the presence of fire (girl fleeing) but ice still melting in presence of fire, and only water being able to put out fire... Both fire and water originating from earth and lava being a combination of both... And the reason why FIRE is the guy is because people say love is like fire - warm and passionate and everything red.

La Di Da

Okay so this is a poem I don't even know how I started writing but somehow thinking the words "Sing la di da, my dear, la di da" turned into this poem!

LA DI DA:
If the world turns against you,
All hope an extinguished flame,
A cold wintry night spent in solitude,
Or when life is a crashed plane...

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
La Di Da.

Sing it loud, sing it clear,
Sing it softly into the night
So it rings through your soul
And warms your plight...

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
La Di Da.

And when there seems
Such bittersweet tastes
Whereof life and its lessons
Have deceived, have betrayed...

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
La Di Da.

Whisper it to your soul,
Sing it out to the world,
Fill the air with your song
To distant places hurled...

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
La Di Da.

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
Like a nightingale,
Sing it it like the source of a force
To continue your tale...

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
La Di Da.

Sing on, dream on, push on,
Plow through the snow
And keep going, my dear,
Let nothing outshine your glow...

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
La Di Da.

Sing La Di Da, my dear,
La Di Da.

AND IN CASE YOU DIDN'T NOTICE.... The poem refers to a song called La Di Da. Look at the name of the poem.

SO YOU CAN SING THIS IN ANY TUNE YOU LIKE!!! Hope you enjoyed this poem!
